How Carpool Karaoke AI collects, uses and protects your data, including your photos.

What we collect
- Account data: your email, name and profile image from Google sign-in.
- Photos you submit: the 1–4 seat photos you upload, used to make your video.
- Generated videos: the videos created for you.
- Payment data: handled by Waffo, our merchant of record. We receive the order status and email, never your full card number.
- Usage and device data: pages visited, basic device and browser info, and IP address for security and rate limiting. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic.
How we use it
- To create and deliver your videos.
- To run automated safety checks on photos and videos.
- To process payments, prevent fraud and abuse, and provide support.
- To improve the site using aggregated analytics.
We do not use your photos or videos to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal data.
Who processes it
- Video generation: your photos, our car scene and an excerpt of the trend’s audio are sent to our AI video provider, kie.ai, which runs the model named in our footer.
- Storage: finished videos are stored in Cloudflare R2 and served to you through our site.
- Safety checks: photos and videos are checked by our moderation provider, SeeAPI.
- Hosting: Cloudflare (servers, database, email routing).
- Sign-in and analytics: Google.
- Payments: Waffo.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us. SeeAPI may keep moderation inputs for a period set by its own policy; we send it reduced-size images where possible.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded photos are kept by our generation provider for about 24 hours; we keep only a link and a fingerprint used to prevent duplicate uploads.
- Generated videos are deleted automatically after 14 days.
- Account and order records are kept while your account is active and as required for tax and accounting.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to delete your account, by emailing contact@carpoolkaraokeai.org. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The service is not for anyone under 18.
