The F1 carpool karaoke AI video explained: who made it, the September 24 repost that made it viral, the UFC, NFL and football versions, and fan edits.

The F1 carpool karaoke AI video put four Formula 1 drivers into the car from Migos’ 2018 Carpool Karaoke, rapping the “Walk It Like I Talk It” hook. It was made with Higgsfield Genjutsu by the creator @dan.directed, and it went viral after Lewis Hamilton shared it to his Instagram story on September 24, 2026.
What the F1 video shows
The clip reuses the original episode’s car scene, cuts and audio, with the riders swapped. Hamilton is at the wheel, Max Verstappen is up front, and Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli are in the back, all mouthing “Walk It Talk It” by Migos featuring Drake. (Outlets disagreed on who sat where: MotorBiscuit put Hamilton in the driving seat; GPFans described Verstappen in the passenger seat.)
Who made it
The video was posted by @dan.directed with the caption “F1 Karaoke made with Higgsfield Genjutsu”. According to GPFans, the account is full of similar videos of famous people and fictional characters swapped into real clips.
The repost that made it go viral
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend in Baku, Hamilton put the AI video on his Instagram story — unusual for a driver who rarely shares anything other than his own posts. GPFans, MotorBiscuit, Yahoo Sports, PitLane Daily and ScuderiaFans covered it the same week; MotorBiscuit also reported that Antonelli re-shared it. Some coverage was mocking (GPFans called it “slop”), which only spread it further.
Why the F1 carpool karaoke AI version took off
- Four recognizable faces in one shot. The wide windshield shot is a group photo fans can name instantly.
- A real driver shared it. The repost turned a fan edit into F1 news.
- The hook is the joke. Serious athletes mouthing “Walk it like I talk it” is funny on its own.
- Every fan base wants its own. One car, four seats: easy to recast with any team.
UFC, NFL and football versions
The format spread to other sports within days. UFC fan pages put fighters in the back seat, NFL fans recast a team’s quarterback, coach and receivers (a Detroit Lions version passed 95,000 TikTok views on October 2, 2026), and football fans made versions with club squads. Most are captioned with the trend’s TikTok names: “walk it like i talk it car trend” and “migos carpool karaoke”.
How to make an F1 carpool karaoke AI fan edit
- Pick four riders and put the lead in seat 1 (shotgun) — that rider gets the most close-ups.
- Use one clear, front-facing photo per seat. Different team kits help the AI keep riders apart.
- Generate in 9:16 for TikTok and Reels.
On Carpool Karaoke AI that takes about five minutes and costs $9.90 for an HD video with the original hook. Fan edits of real people are allowed only if you have the right to use the photos, label the video as AI-generated, and don’t present it as real footage or as an endorsement. We don’t use real drivers or athletes in our own examples or marketing.
Is the F1 carpool karaoke AI video official?
No. Neither the F1 video nor this site is affiliated with Formula 1, any team or driver, CBS, The Late Late Show, Apple or Migos. Read the full story of the trend in Walk It Like I Talk It AI, explained.
